There are many Life threatening diseases, such as cancer, genomic diseases, and life-style related diseases. To overcome these diseases, extensive and continuous efforts are currently made to develop new therapeutic technologies and pharmaceuticals. Concerning the pharmaceuticals, new types of drugs such as nucleotides, antibody, and molecule-targeted drugs are going in market as a result of such effort.
These new type pharmaceuticals, including old-type ones, however, has many side effects because the active substance act to normal tissues or organs. Nucleotide drugs that are enthusiastically expected as a next generation drug, has several weakness to be used as a drug; i.e., they are easily degraded in blood stream as a free form, and it is difficult to deliver enough amount to targeted tissue without causing dispersion.
Because of these problems, the importance of drug deliver system is increasing in recent years.
